No more zero sum games … the Workplace Cocktail Hour with Joe Croft

For the second week running, the football talk takes place off mike. Joe Croft shares a coffee and a chat with Mark Eltringham. Instead of the mixed fortunes of Middlesbrough and Stoke City, they talk about everything to do with sustainability in office fitout and construction. They discuss the limit of accreditations and standards, the need to get beyond box ticking and greenwash and what best practice really looks like. They also discuss what might happen when our favoured recycled materials become scarce, and also how resource hungry the online and digital world is.

Joe is Head of Environmental and Sustainability at Overbury and Morgan Lovell. He has experience delivering various BREEAM, LEED and Ska projects from both consultant and contractor side, with very little margin for error. Joe has experience both maintaining and implementing new Environmental Management Systems to achieve ISO14001 and Quality Management Systems to ISO9001 certifications. Joe helped Overbury become the the first organisation in the UK to achieve a UKAS accredited ISO14001:2015 certification. Joe regularly speaks at industry events on environmental, carbon and wellbeing issues.

About the Workplace Cocktail Hour

The Workplace Cocktail Hour is brought to you in partnership with The Workplace Event. Each episode looks at the major workplace related news stories from the last week or so. There’ll be no editing, the episode is recorded in real time at the end of the day, so we’ll be talking straight and reacting to current news and events. Each week’s guest is invited to nominate a topic for discussion and a drink for us to share. Doesn’t have to be alcoholic but the intention is to talk like normal, informed humans over a shared drink. At some point, we’ll be doing it in person.

If you’d like to take part in what we hope is an informed, intelligent and maybe challenging series, we’d love to hear from you.

All of the podcasts are available on SoundcloudAmazonApple, and Spotify. Or just listen below.
