Ninth Workplace Design Conference in Ljubljana to explore positive workplace change

The ninth annual Workplace Design Conference has been confirmed for Thursday, 8 October 2026, with organisers announcing that WDC26 will take place at Ljubljana Castle, one of Slovenia’s most recognisable cultural landmarks. Hosted in the professionally equipped Hribar Hall, high above Ljubljana’s Old Town, the conference will once again bring together an international audience of workplace strategists, business leaders, designers, consultants and solution providers to explore how the design of work environments can support performance, productivity and positive organisational change.

WDC has established a reputation for combining global insight with strong regional relevance, and the 2026 edition is expected to continue that approach. The programme will feature international speakers with direct experience of managing workplace transformation projects, designing high-performing work environments and aligning space, culture and organisational goals. Organisers say the emphasis will be on practical case studies and strategic thinking that delegates can apply within their own organisations.

The venue itself is a key part of the conference experience. Ljubljana Castle combines historic architecture with modern conference facilities, offering panoramic views across the city alongside spaces designed for focused discussion and professional exchange. Hribar Hall provides an atmospheric setting for learning, debate and high-level networking throughout the day.

Networking has long been a defining feature of the Workplace Design Conference, and WDC26 is expected to offer multiple opportunities for delegates to connect with peers, partners and potential collaborators. Time is built into the programme for informal conversation as well as structured breaks and a relaxed networking lunch, encouraging discussion beyond the main sessions.

The 2026 conference will also introduce new partnership and sponsorship opportunities aimed at organisations seeking visibility among local and regional decision makers, lead generation within a targeted professional audience and opportunities to position themselves as thought leaders within the workplace strategy sector. Sponsors will benefit from both on-site exposure and pre-event promotional activity designed to build awareness and engagement ahead of the conference.

Workplace Insight has been involved with the conference in previous years, including in 2025 when its editor Mark Eltringham appeared as a speaker, contributing to discussions on the evolving relationship between workplace design, culture and organisational performance.

Further details on speakers, agenda and registration for WDC26 are expected to be released in due course. Organisers Izabela Eržen and the WDC team have invited potential partners, sponsors and attendees to get in touch to explore opportunities to be involved in the event. Email welcome@workplacedesign.si
