New issue of Works magazine is out now and ready for you to explore

The digital edition of the new issue of Works magazine has landed, bringing you another compelling mix of insight and ideas from across the workplace design and management sector. The print edition is on its way and, we think, better than ever. Whichever format you choose, issue 19 offers a comprehensive look at the trends, projects, ideas, products and people shaping the contemporary workplace and the way we think about it. from global perspectives and expert commentary to case studies, interviews and a closer look at the materials and products shaping modern workplaces.

We look at why Finland continues to rank as the happiest country on earth and a striking new development near Mount Ararat. The comments section tackles some of the most pressing themes in the sector, including Jo Sutherland on the implications of AI and Georgia Nogas on whether it is time to rethink how we brand the workplace.

There is also a strong focus on design innovation, with the showroom pages highlighting new products from leading manufacturers, while a series of case studies explore how organisations are responding to changing expectations. These include a visit to the London headquarters of a firm supporting the music industry, a project that balances a respect for traditional design  with contemporary workplace needs, and an international project that juxtaposes Japanese minimalism with Parisian style.

The issue also features an interview with Gary Helm, reflecting on the rapid evolution of acoustic pods and what has been learned since their surge in popularity. Elsewhere, round table discussions consider the gap between workplace strategy and delivery, while Jo Knight takes a closer look at the ongoing debate around sustainability in design and furniture.

Events and exhibitions are another key theme, with previews and reviews covering Clerkenwell Design Week and the future of workplace shows more broadly. Alongside this, the projects section celebrates the continued evolution of the office, while our section focussing on materials explores the creativity and performance driving sustainability and innovation in product design and the environment.

The issue also includes a celebration of the Flooring Matters podcast series, produced in partnership with Shaw Contract, and rounds off with Out of Office, which revisits the unlikely resilience of the fax machine in an increasingly digital world.

Whether you read it cover to cover or dip in and out, Issue 19 offers a comprehensive snapshot of the ideas, challenges and opportunities shaping the workplace today. And if you don’t get the print edition, we think you’re missing out.
