Digital transformation efforts yet to translate into greater productivity at many firms

British and Irish firms are increasing their investment in digital transformation, according to Docusign’s Digital Maturity Report 2024, but this hasn’t yet translated into improved productivity or digital maturity. HSBC Headquarters in Canary Wharf to undergo major transformation

In a significant redevelopment move, 8 Canada Square, currently the headquarters of HSBC, is set to be transformed into a modern multi-use skyscraper once the bank vacates its Canary Wharf location in 2027. The global banking giant will relocate to the Square Mile as part of a company refresh, prompting an overhaul of its existing headquarters. This morning, the Canary Wharf Group (CWG) announced plans to reimagine the iconic building into a state-of-the-art space encompassing workspaces, leisure, entertainment, and educational facilities. The building is wholly owned by the Qatari sovereign wealth fund (QIA), with CWG serving as the development partner. More →

The new Digital Britain [automatic download] report from Sage claims that over half of Britain’s economic potential from tech adoption is as yet untapped. But ongoing concerns amongst small and medium sized business about cost, skills and knowledge are holding them back from taking on the digital transformation that will ensure their success and provide a massive boost to the economy.
