Two thirds of SMEs confident of prospects after restructuring

Nearly two thirds (62 percent) of UK small business owners remain confident about their business prospects despite the coronavirus crisis, according to a study from Bionic. The government’s response to the pandemic has forced many SMEs, particularly in the retail, hospitality and leisure space, to close their doors to customers. Responding to the lockdown, 78 percent of small businesses have pivoted the way their business operates to continue trading through the crisis.

wellbeingNew research from Aon claims that employers have increased their strategic focus on both emotional and financial wellbeing programmes, while physical wellbeing programmes have remained largely static. Aon’s UK Benefits & Trends 2020 Survey (registration) shows that 51 percent of employers now have financial wellbeing strategies in place, up from 21 percent three years ago, while 68 percent have emotional wellbeing strategies, up from 41 percent. BT to relocate up to 4,000 people to new Birmingham headquarters

BT BirminghamBT Group has announced Birmingham’s Three Snowhill development will be its primary new home in the city and provide “a future-fit workplace for thousands of colleagues”. The building, in the city’s business district, will become the regional headquarters for BT with between 3,000 – 4,000 people set to be based there eventually – more than five times the number of people currently based in Birmingham.
